Doritis pulcherrima
The peloric variety "Chumporensis" |
Culture Legend--- Temp: I-W |
Doritis (doe-RYE-tis) pulcherrima is a highly variable species, colorwise, in this monospecific genus from Southeast Asia. It has been used extensively in breeding with Phalaenopsis, to produce Doritaenopsis. Doritis contributes long flowering season, color, compact growth, and an upright bloom spike habit to its progeny. It enjoys the same culture as Phalaenopsis. Doritis can handle higher light, and less water, if adapted slowly.
